Celebrate Rosh Hashanah (the new year) with JVP for Tashlich, a Jewish ritual observed as part of the Days of Awe. Tashlich takes place at a body of water and involves throwing bread or rocks into water to symbolically let go of those things in our lives that we need to release.
Join us as we walk together to Sligo Creek -- a very short walk from our starting location. There will be singing, space for reflection, and rituals that help us on our personal and communal journeys towards a new year filled with healing and liberation.
We are very pleased that Tashlich will be led this year by Rabbi Joseph Berman, JVP’s Manager of Government Affairs & Grassroots Advocacy.
Please RSVP and help spread the word via Facebook.
For the address and directions, please contact info@jvpdc.org. Our starting location will be at a member's home in Silver Spring, near the Forest Glen Metro stop.
